Problematic skin – how to care for it

by homes

Not all of us are lucky enough to have beautiful skin. Some have dry skin, while others have oily skin. If dry skin can be actively moisturized, and it will not create additional problems, then the owners of oily skin are constantly faced with a lot of trouble: from a dull complexion to enlarged pores, blackheads and pimples. The increased volume of the sebaceous glands quite often leads to increased production of sebum, which tightly clogs the pores, thereby causing skin irritation, rashes and acne.

The sebaceous glands naturally intensify their work with the onset of the warm season – therefore, very often the skin is oily in summer, and combined in winter. In some women, the skin becomes oily when the hormonal background fails, when the content of male hormones rises in the blood, which stimulate increased secretion of fat from the sebaceous glands. The only advantage of oily skin is that its owners look younger than their years: due to the constant presence of a layer of sebum on the skin, oily skin is less prone to the formation of early wrinkles. Therefore, do not despair of the fact that the face very often shines, but try to fix it in simple ways.

Although scientists have not proven a direct effect of diet on increasing sebum secretion, many people notice that a properly balanced diet helps to normalize the functioning of the sebaceous glands and significantly improves skin condition. By maintaining a normal metabolism in the body, you can rid the skin of oily sheen and give it a healthy look.

To remove excess sebum, cleanse your skin several times a day with quality oily skin care products. Try to choose a gentle cleanser that suits your skin type and does not cause irritation. Cosmetic preparations, the compositions of which include 2% salicylic acid, perfectly cleanse the skin.

Decorative cosmetics are applied to a previously well-cleansed face, and it must be selected in strict accordance with your skin type. Due to the fact that decorative cosmetics have a significant effect on the skin, it is best for those who have problematic and oily skin to use the minimum amount, especially in the heat. A well-chosen mineral-based foundation quickly absorbs oil and leaves only a thin protective film on the skin. On sunny days, just before leaving the house to the street, it is recommended to apply a high-quality foundation or mousse with sunscreens. These cosmetics will help to reliably protect the skin from direct sunlight and will not harm it – after all, a thick layer of makeup in warm weather can completely clog pores and cause irritation and acne.
